A perfect choice for an in-depth appreciation of Egypt's best attractions
In Cairo, unravel the complexity of dynastic Egypt and the world’s most awe-inspiring ancient civilisation with a visit to Memphis, the necropolis of Saqqara, the first step-pyramid and the outstanding Old Kingdom tombs. Explore the magnificent Egyptian Museum, the great pyramids and Sphinx, before arriving in ancient Thebes (Luxor) to see Karnak Temple, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the splendid royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings. Cruise south along the Nile to Aswan, visit Edfu Temple, the lovely ruined temple at Komombo and enjoy the charming Temple of Isis, before an optional visit to Abu Simbel. Back in Cairo, wander along the labyrinthine streets of the medieval city and discover the Gayer-Anderson Museum, the Mosque of Ibn Tulun and the celebrated Khan al-Khalili Bazaar.
