From incredible and almost unearthly monasteries to the earthly abodes of the ancient gods, this fascinating journey through Greece showcases the country’s most important historical sites. At the Acropolis, the Parthenon stands like a sentinel above Athens - a relic from the days when the city-state ruled much of the western world. In the Peloponnese we visit a little-known medieval town frequented by few tourists, as well as the site of ancient Olympia, Mycenae and the impressive ancient theatre of Epidaurus (Epidavros). On the slopes of Mount Parnassus the town of Delphi is home to the captivating Sanctuary of Apollo, once home to the Delphi Oracle. Perched high up on rock pillars, the amazing monasteries of Meteora have to be seen to be believed! On this journey of discovery, we walk in the footsteps of gods and mortals alike - Zeus, Poseidon, Hercules, Aristotle, Archimedes, Alexander the Great and Athena Nike.
