Explore two jewels of the Greek Islands...
Greece’s most beautiful islands are waiting to be discovered.
Situated in the Aegean Sea, fascinating Crete and alluring Santorini epitomise the quintessential notion Grecian paradise. Crete is the largest and most southerly of the Greek islands, where the historic port town of Hania (Chania) is sure to delight with its tranquil old harbour, delightful Venetian Quarter and lively, colourful atmosphere. Crete has some of Europe’s most impressive gorges, resplendent with plane trees, Cyprus pines and maple trees. Stunning Santorini is probably Greece’s most beautiful island and features on many postcards and photographic works of art. Set on the cone of an ancient volcano created by an eruption over 3500 years ago, it is rumoured to be the site of the ‘lost city’ of Atlantis, mentioned in the works of the ancient Greek writer, Plato. The towns of Thira and Oia are spectacularly located on cliff tops that formed part of the rim of the caldera, whilst all the way below is the blue, shimmering sea.
