Carbon Balance Your Trip with an AdventureOffsetYour Adventure Center trip is already carefully designed to minimize its environmental impact but flying to your destination does result in the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere which can contribute to global warming and ultimately undesirable climate change. The good news is there's an easy way to offset some of the carbon emissions associated with your flights by purchasing AdventureOffsets which invest in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects that reduce carbon emissions. We've estimated the average carbon dioxide emissions associated with flights from the USA to popular Adventure Center destinations so you can purchase AdventureOffsets to carbon balance the air travel associated with your trip. With the proceeds from your AdventureOffset purchase, in collaboration with Sustainable Travel International, we help finance climate protection projects in different countries, thereby enabling you to compensate for the impact of your air travel. To keep things simple, since we are travelers and not scientists, we've designed the program around the average carbon footprint of average journeys so depending on your actual itinerary and level of AdventureOffset purchase you may be slightly over or under compensating but either way you'll be making a positive contribution to combating global warming. Your AdventureOffset purchase represents CI's 'Conservation Carbon' offsets. These are market-based commodities representing one metric ton of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) through reforestation and avoided deforestation. All Conservation Carbon offsets are designed using the standards set forth by the Climate, Community, and Biodiversity Alliance (CCBA). For more details of the projects go to www.sustainabletravelinternational.org.
*One complimentary AdventureOffsets baggage tag will be provided for each person for whom an AdventureOffset is purchased. Baggage tag will be shipped after full payment for trip and AdventureOffsets has been received and will normally ship along with final travel documentation for your trip about three weeks prior to departure. |
