Beautiful mountain scenery, attractive Tyrolean villages and wonderful traditional cuisine
South of Innsbruck among the green meadows of the Gschnitzal Valley lies Trins, a charming village with authentic Tyrolean buildings and easy access to some wonderful walking. On our journey through ancient villages filled with onion-domed churches, we learn why Tyroleans are so justifiably proud of their homeland, and we enjoy wonderful views across this mountainous paradise. Making use of the ski-lifts and efficient local buses, we can reach the summit of Nosslachjoch (2231m) or enjoy a scenic walk to Obernbergersee Lake (1600m) where we see St Nikolaus Church perched on a hill in the middle of the valley. Thanks to such a large of variety of walks, two grades are offered in the same week on certain dates, with a different leader escorting each grade (see Dates & Prices page).Based in our welcoming and comfortable hotel, we enjoy many sumptuous courses of traditional Tyrolean cuisine including the renowned Knodel (dumplings) and Grostl (roasted potatoes).

Itinerary:

Day 1 Start Trins. 2-7 6 guided daywalks through Gschnitztal and Obernberg valleys with ascents to St Magdalena Chapel (1661m), the Tribulaun Hut (2064m) and Nosslachjoch (2231m). C grade walks include ridge walking to reach Portjoch (2110m) along Italian border, a summit offer 8 End Trins.

Mode of travel: 6 days centre-based walking. Altitude maximum 2717m, average 1800m.
Group size: Normally 7 to 18, plus 2 leaders who lead a different walking grade each day.
Accommodation: 7 nights hotel with sauna.
Food: All breakfasts and 7 dinners included.
