Superb walking in the shadow of the majestic Marmolada
Val di Fassa lies between Marmolada (3343m), the Dolomites' highest peak, and Catinaccio (2981m), the famous long ridge that glows red in the setting sun. Based near the lively town of Moena, locally known as the gateway to the Dolomites, we are ideally situated to access neighbouring valleys and discover their attractive villages. We walk through lush green valleys carpeted with a profusion of alpine flowers, and are constantly rewarded with panoramic views of jagged limestone spires towering above. With excellent chairlift and bus links, we are able to access a huge variety of walks, thus allowing us to offer two grades of walking on each departure. In peaceful Soraga we enjoy the friendly atmosphere of a comfortable family-run Tyrolean hotel, which is locally renowned for its award-winning gourmet cuisine.

Itinerary:

Day 1 Start Soraga. 2-7 5 guided walks mixing high-altitude routes that guarantee stunning Dolomite scenery, and low level paths. B-grade walks include the Passo Costalunga, Vigo di Fassa and Canazei, where lifts can provide access to higher ground. Another possibility is the Va 8 End Soraga.

Mode of travel: 5 days centre-based walking. Altitude maximum 3024m, average 2300m.
Group size: Normally 9 to 26, plus 2 leaders who lead a different walking grade each day.
Accommodation: Hotel ArnicaThe 3-star Hotel Arnica is situated on the edge of the village of Soraga. It is a comfortable family run hotel with a great friendly atmosphere, in an area with a varied selection of walking. It has an attractive dining room, built in the local Tyrolean style, and a bar lounge area, ideal for relaxed evenings. A wellness centre has recently been added to the facilities, offering sauna, steam bath and a small swimming pool. All the twin-bedded and single rooms are en suite and have telephone and television.
