Wildlife & Wilderness Of Alaska
15 days - from $3570
Exploration, wildlife and hiking in one of the world's greatest wilderness areas
In Alaska man's influence is still restricted to a few ports and old trading townships with much of the land untamed. The region contains glaciers, forests, lakes and rushing rivers combining to offer some of the best walking on the continent. The wildlife is legendary, thriving both in the sea and on land. We visit the vast expanse of peaks and glaciers in the Wrangell-St Elias Mountains and Denali National Park, where we hike near the highest peak in North America, Mt McKinley (6194m). We have excellent opportunities to see marine life at Prince William Sound and amongst the fjords of Kenai N.P., whilst we also take a small float plane flight deep into the wilderness to see black and hopefully grizzly bears.
