Set in the heart of Europe, Poland is a hugely varied country with fascinating mediaeval towns, quiet countryside and the towering peaks of the Tatra Mountains. The views are wonderful and there is plenty of time to relax and enjoy the atmosphere too. We start in the historic city of Krakow before heading to Zakopane, the hugely popular mountain resort. Crossing into neighbouring Slovakia, we venture further into the mountains, including a visit to the fascinating Dobsinska Ice Cave and traditional rafting on the Dunajec River. An action-packed day at the 'Aqua City' in Poprad is memorable for the whole family, and the pretty town of Stary Smokovec is a charming base for further walks and cable car rides.
