Kenya is home to an astonishing array of wildlife and landscapes, and is a game viewer's paradise. This short trip includes both the glittering lakes of the Rift Valley and the rolling savannah of the Masai Mara - made famous by the incredible yearly migration of millions of wildebeest and zebras. Kenya's birdlife is also amazingly rich, with four hundred species at the Rift Valley lakes alone; the rosy-pink view of the flamingo population on Lake Nakuru is particularly spectacular. We stay in only two bases to minimise travel and maximise gameviewing. Our lodge at Elementaita is an ideal place to relax after an overnight flight and to explore Lake Nakuru National Park, the best small park in East Africa with a large concentration of rhino. In the Masai Mara we generally use Basecamp, an comfortable permanent tented camp situated in the heart of one of the most prolific wildlife areas on earth. The Masai Mara fulfils all expectations of endless plains, steep escarpments and abundant game. 

Itinerary:

Day 1 Start Nairobi; drive down Rift Valley to Lake Elementaita. Afternoon free to relax after flight or take optional walk down to lake. 2 Full day in Lake Nakuru National Park. 3 Drive to Masai Mara; afternoon game drive. 4-5 Two full days in the Masai Mara including optional gamewalks. 6 Early game drive or optional walk; transfer to Nairobi. 7 End Nairobi.

Mode of travel: Travel is by private minibus with good viewing space. Some long drives on poor roads.
Group size: Normally 4 to 12, plus safari guide and local guides where appropriate.
Accommodation: 3 nights luxury tented camp, 2 nights lodge and one night hotel, all en suite.
Food: All breakfasts, 5 lunches and 5 dinners included.
