City lovers can treat themselves to four of Europe's finest and most historic places; Prague, Vienna, Budapest and Krakow. For those who prefer a more intimate atmosphere, the traditional and beautifully-situated Czech town of Cesky Krumlov, the wonderful walled Slovakian town of Levoca, and the artists' favourite Hungarian hideaway at Szentendre will not disappoint. The landscape is spectacular, with the dramatic Tatra Mountains and beautiful parks and scenery of Moravia. These act as a stunning backdrop to palaces and castles, as well as providing an opportunity for some lovely gentle walks. Itinerary:
Day 1 Start Prague. 2 Full day in Prague, with guided sightseeing and free time. 3 Morning visit to the village of Holasovice, a World Heritage Site, en route to quaint town of Cesky Krumlov. 4 Visit Telc; continue to wonderful city of Vienna. 5 Full day sightseeing and free time; optional evening music concert. 6 Transfer to Budapest, capital of Hungary, stopping in mediaeval village of Sopron en route. 7 Guided sightseeing including artists' colony of Szentendre; evening optional boat cruise along the Danube. 8 Transfer to Eger; visit cave complex and local wine tasting. 9 Drive to Levoca in Slovakia; afternoon visit to Spis Castle then move on to Stary Smokovec in the Tatra Mountains. 10 Transfer to Tatranska Lomnica, take cable car to Skalnate Pleso Lake (1751m); walk back passing beautiful waterfalls. 11 Free morning in Stary Smokovec; transfer to Krakow. 12 Morning city tour of Poland's finest mediaeval city, visiting Old Market, Mariacki Church and Jewish quarter; free afternoon for optional visit to the famous Wieliczka Salt Mine. 13 Free day; optional visit to Auschwitz. 14 End Krakow.
