Trails Of Borneo

14 days - from $2870

An active exploration of rainforest trails, caves, and an ascent of Mt Kinabalu
The great rainforests of Borneo offer the active and adventurous the chance to participate in a multitude of exciting activities. We journey into the depths of the equatorial rainforest at Mulu National Park where we explore the largest caves on earth, and trek through the jungle on the Headhunter's Trail, used in years gone by Kayan warriors. We meet the loveable Orang-utans at the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre and spend two days at a lodge in the Kinabatanagan Wildlife Reserve where Orang-utans, elephants, Proboscis monkeys and hornbills are frequently seen. A fitting end to this adventurous journey is a climb of Mt Kinabalu (4095m), the highest mountain in South East Asia. We take the quieter and more interesting Mesilau Trail, allowing us to fully appreciate the walk and spectacular scenery. The summit gives panoramic views across the foothills and out to the Sulu Sea. This is a great place to see the sunrise before time at the beach.
