Itinerary:Day 1 Start Santiago; afternoon city tour. 2 Full day optional excursion to Valparaiso, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the beaches of Vina del Mar. 3 Fly to Calama; transfer to San Pedro de Atacama. Explore the Valley of the Moon at sunset. 4 Optional afternoon trip to explore Chile's largest salt lake - the Salar de Atacama. 5 Full day excursion high into the Andes to El Tatio geyser (optional). 6 Fly to Puerto Montt; to Puerto Varas in heart of Lake District. Afternoon at leisure. 7 Full day tour of Lake District including boat trip on Lago Todos Los Santos, and an easy walk on lava fields of Osorno Volcano. 8 Fly to Punta Arenas in Patagonia. 9 Free morning or optional excursion to Magdalena Island to see the penguin colony; afternoon to Puerto Natales. 10 A full day of sightseeing and short walks in Torres del Paine N.P. 11 Optional full day zodiac/boat excursion through Torres del Paine on the Rio Serrano to Balmaceda Glacier; afternoon return to Puerto Natales. 12 To Punta Arenas; fly to Santiago. 13 Depart Santiago.
