This short but intensive trip, a fantastic blend of active adventure and cultural sites, combines many of China’s highlights with some of its hidden gems. So, you’ll see the Terracotta Warriors, trek the Great Wall, catch up on the glories of Chengde’s Imperial past and be treated to a guided tour of the Forbidden City. But you’ll also be stopping to visit the charming town of Pingyao which is packed with Qing dynasty architecture and the Yungang grottoes near Datong. All in all, a comprehensive but fascinating introduction to China!
