A week sea-kayaking along the beautiful Turquoise Coast
An active week kayaking around the secluded bays, coves and beaches of the Turquoise Coast. We paddle over the sunken city at Kekova and along the coast past ancient ruins from Lycian, Roman and Byzantine times.The sea kayaks are great fun to pilot and there are plenty of stops for swimming, relaxing and refreshments. Our free day is spent in the delightful coastal town of Kas where there is the option to go diving or paragliding. No previous kayaking experience is necessary, but a good level of fitness is a must.
Itinerary:
Day 1 Start Kas. 2 Kayaking in and around Kalkan, including Kaputas beach and the Blue Cave (Mavi Magara). 3 Free day in lively port town of Kas; opportunity for diving or paragliding (optional). 4 To Deregemlik Cove via Uluburun. 5 To Aperlai, visiting impressive Roman ruins. 6 On to Tersane Bay on Kekova Island and the sunken city; swim stop then on to camp in Gokaya. 7 Pirate's Cave on Asirli Island, follow coast back towards Simena; final paddle to Ucagiz. 8 End Ucagiz.
Details:
Group size: Normally 6 to 16, plus leader(s).
Accommodation: We use a comfortable hotel with private facilities and a pool in Kas for 2 nights, wild camps for 3 nights and pension-style lodging in Ucagiz for 2 nights. For the camping we provide all the tents and cooking utensils needed.
Food: All breakfasts included, plus 5 lunches and 3 dinners whilst camping.
