The Rockies are stunning; rugged granite peaks, fir forests and sparkling glaciers interspersed with valleys rich with wildlife - Black and Grizzly bear, deer, moose and coyote. This trip takes in the celebrated attractions and also ventures off the beaten track to visit the perfect turquoise lakes of Yoho N.P. and the wildlife and peaks of Glacier N.P. We continue on to Vancouver Island, where beautiful temperate rainforest meets the sea and the remarkable marine life includes whales, sea lions and orcas. There are great opportunities for hikes throughout the trip, often the best way to explore the mountains and lakes of the region. 

Day 1 Fly to Calgary. 2 Visit Calgary and transfer to Banff; gondola ride and picnic on summit, hike down. 3 Full day walking in beautiful Banff N.P. or optional activities. 4 To Lake Louise then along Icefields Parkway with optional walk on glacier. 5 Hike in Maligne Canyon; drive to Maligne Lake; optional canoe trip. 6 To Yoho N.P and walk to Emerald Lake; transfer to Golden. 7 Visit Grizzly bear sanctuary; optional walk in Yoho N.P. 8 Drive to Glacier N.P. with short hike at Roger's Pass; to Kamloops. 9 To Whistler with a walk at Cheakamus Lake. 10 Free day; optional hiking, zip lining, rafting and more. 11 Drive and ferry to Vancouver Island; 800 year old Douglas firs at Cathedral Cove; to Tofino. 12 Walking or optional whale watching, hot springs or sea kayaking. 13 To Victoria with city tour. 14 Ferry to Vancouver; explore city. 15 Depart Vancouver.
