Itinerary:
Day 1: CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA
Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight at the Lady Hamilton or similar.
Day 2: CAPE TOWN to CEDARBERG MOUNTAINS
An early start takes us to the beach to have our last look at Table Mountain before making our way to the picturesque Cedarberg Mountains via Citrusdal. Overnight at Gecko Creek or similar
Day 3-4: CEDARBERG MOUNTAINS to ORANGE RIVER
Travelling up the West Coast, we pass through magnificent mountain ranges with breathtaking scenery before reaching Orange River – the natural boarder between South Africa & Namibia. The following day, the only travelling done is by canoe. Put your feet up and relax as the current takes downstream. Overnights at the Felix Unite River Camp or similar.
Day 5: ORANGE RIVER to FISH RIVER CANYON, NAMIBIA
Today, we journey to Fish River Canyon via Ai-Ais where we stop for lunch and watch thermal water gush from the springs in spectacular display. Later, we pull into our home for the evening and watch a perfect African sunset from the edge of the canyon. Overnight at the Canon Road House or similar.
Days 6: FISH RIVER CANYON to SOSSUSVLEI
Today, we embark on a long journey moving inland before reaching our lodge for the evening in close proximity to the world’s highest sand dunes. Overnight at the Hammerstein Lodge or similar..
Day 7: SOSSUSVLEI
The world’s oldest and highest sand dunes are located at Sossusvlei and we spend the day exploring the dunes which are very photogenic at sunset. Overnight at the Hammerstein Lodge or similar.
Day 8: SOSSUSVLEI to SWAKOPMUND
As we venture to Swakopmund today, we pass through Namib Naukluft National Park – home to some of the rarest animal and plant species in the world – before arriving in Swakopmund. Overnight at the A la Mer or similar.
Day 9: SWAKOPMUND
Take the day to explore this charming where multiple optional activities abound. From sand boarding to relaxing on the beach, you will never want to leave! Overnight at the A la Mer or similar.
Day 10: SWAKOPMUND to BRANDBERG
Leaving adventurous Swakopmund, we journey to Cape Cross and introduce ourselves to the 80 000 seals that call it home. Later, we move along to Brandberg where we can enjoy a visit to the famous ‘White Lady’ rock painting. Overnight at the Brandberg White Lady Lodge or similar.
Day 11: BRANDBERG to KAMANJAB
An early morning start takes us to Twyfelfontein and Petrified Forest. Later, as we arrive in Kamanjab. Time permitting, we explore a traditional Himba village (or morning of day 12) and learn about the last true tribe in Namibia, the Ova-Himba. Overnight at Porcupine Camp or similar.
Day 12: KAMANJAB to ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
Heading to the land of the ‘Big Five’ we stop en-route in the small German town of Outjo for lunch and some relaxation. Arriving in Etosha and settling into our resort, we have the opportunity to spot wildlife at the floodlit watering holes. Overnight at the Okaukuejo Resort or similar.
Day 13-14: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
We fill the next two days with exhilarating game drives and opportunities for relaxing around the swimming pool and watching animals drink from the floodlit watering holes. Overnights at the Namutoni Resort or similar..
Day 15-16: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK to KAVANGO RIVER
Leaving Etosha, we head to Rundu and onto N’Kwazi River Camp. On the banks of the Kavango River and a stone’s throw away from Angola, we fill our time with optional activities or relaxing on the banks of the river as the sun sets. Overnight at N’Kwazi River Camp or similar.
Day 17-18: KAVANGO RIVER to the OKAVANGO DELTA, BOTSWANA
We leave Namibia for the well preserved gem of Africa – the Okavango Delta. The next day, we explore the delta and its network of water pathways by mokoro spotting wildlife along the way. Overnights at the Guma Lagoon Camp or similar.
Day 19: OKAVANGO DELTA to EASTERN CAPRIVI, NAMIBIA
Bidding farewell to Botswana, we travel into Namibia to our rest camp on the Kwando River. In the afternoon, we go on a game drive in the Mudumo National Park with riverine forests, marshes and mopane woodland – in contrast to the rest of Namibia. Overnight at Camp Kwando or similar.
Day 20: EASTERN CAPRIVI to CHOBE NATIONAL PARK, BOTSWANA
Heading along the Caprivi Strip, we re-enter Botswana and Chobe National Park. After settling in, we embark on a sunset cruise along the Chobe River listening to calls of Africa. Overnight at the Chobe Safari Lodge or similar.
Day 21: CHOBE NATIONAL PARK to VICTORIA FALLS, ZIMBABWE
A mid-morning departure takes you from Chobe National Park to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe with time in the afternoon for our guided tour of ‘The Falls’. Overnight at the Lokuthula Lodge or similar.
Day 22: VICTORIA FALLS
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the onward journey.
