The coastal town of Sousse has a fortified medina filled with narrow, winding streets and souks selling all manner of trinkets and spices which you will be able to explore.
In El Djem you will visit the third largest amphitheatre in the Roman world – walk in the footsteps of the gladiators through tunnels under the arena and gain a sense of the atmosphere from days gone by.
Mounting camels you’ll ride out and camp overnight under the desert stars and watch dunes change colour with the dawn. Journey into the mountains to explore palm-filled oases. The scenery is surreal heading into the Sahara across the vast Chott el Djerid salt flats.
In Matmata you’ll spend a night in a troglodyte dwelling – sleeping in a cave is an extraordinary experience! Your final stop is back in Sousse, for a relaxing beach stay.
