This snow-filled week of adventure is based in the spectacular limestone gorges and peaks of the Rhodope Mountains. The village of Chepelare boasts the countryâ™s longest ski run but its impressive range of downhill and cross-country trails are altogether quieter than in neighbouring resorts.

As well as skiing and snowboarding youâ™ve time for optional snowmobile rides or dog-sledding. One evening youâ™ll also visit a local observatory for a tour of the spectacular night sky.

Leaving Chepelare youâ™ll drive through the mountains to Devin. En route youâ™ll see Bulgariaâ™s largest canyon, join a local family for lunch and visit the impressive Devilâ™s Throat Cave.

The underground waters at Devin feed a number of thermal swimming pools so you can relax after your snowshoeing expeditions into the surrounding countryside! Your holiday ends in historic Sofia with time to see the main sights and of course some last minute souvenir hunting.

Day 1 Fly to Sofia; transfer to Chepelare Day 2 Choice of downhill skiing or snowboarding Day 3 Cross-country skiing; optional dog sledding & snowmobile riding Day 4 Free day; your choice of winter activity. Evening visit to observatory Day 5 Transfer to Devin, lunch with a local family & visit Devilâ™s Throat Cave en route Day 6 Wild animal tracking & visit to thermal swimming pools Day 7 Snowshoeing & transfer to Sofia Day 8 Sightseeing in Sofia; return flight home

Transport, accommodation and meals: Transport- Minibus, skis, snowshoes, (snowboard). Distinctive Accommodation- Hotels/pensions (7nts) Youâ™ll stay in comfortable, character pensions with en suite facilities and restaurant/bar available.
