Each journey is carefully structured to ensure flexibility and a comfortable travel pace with time to explore, relax and enjoy the regions you are visiting. Several styles of trip are offered.

Discovery

The Discovery travel style is our benchmark journey. These are great value and use 3 star hotels, comfortable guesthouses and gers (the traditional home of the nomads across Central Asia) when traveling in Mongolia and Central Asia. There is plenty of time to experience local life and enjoy the sights each city has to offer. Discovery journeys offer an easy pace and would suit most travelers. Leaders and local guides accompany these journeys and sightseeing and some meals are included.

Cultural

Cultural journeys devote more time to each city's sights, history and culture. The itineraries are relaxing but full with more meals and comprehensive sightseeing included. Accommodation standards range from 3-4 star hotels to local guesthouses, and private transport is provided for sightseeing and transfers. These are our most comprehensive and inclusive itineraries and are accompanied by a group leader and expert English speaking local guides.

Premium

Our premium journeys are more inclusive and provide the greatest comfort possible. The hotels chosen are of international standard and are some of the best available. Rail carriages are privately chartered and are equipped with showers, exclusive bar/club car and dining car. These journeys are inclusive of all sightseeing, meals (including drinks) as well as all tips and gratuities. Enjoy a legendary rail journey in legendary style.

Challenging

Our challenging journeys are for those seeking a more physically demanding travel experience without the need to be a mountain climber or experienced trekker. These journeys will include a number of extended walks and day treks and travel to more remote areas on rough roads. We use a mix of hotels, comfortable guesthouses and gers (the traditional home of nomads across Central Asia) when traveling in Mongolia and Central Asia and some camping. If you choose a challenging journey, please consider your own fitness and ability to participate fully. Challenging journeys are suited to those who enjoy outdoor activities and walking and appreciate the sometimes-difficult nature of Asia's more remote areas.
