Essence Of Kenya
11 days - from $3895
Kenya has been a world-class safari destination for decades and it is easy to see why! With its amazing highland regions, national reserves teeming with wildlife, freshwater lakes and soda lakes, Kenya is endowed with a wealth of natural beauty. Whilst the Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru regions are most visited, there is an abundance of other experiences that the country has to offer. Complete relaxation awaits in the peaceful foothills of the Abedare Mountains and exploration of the scintillating Samburu-Laikipia ecosystem provides an excellent, and remote safari experience. Accordingly the accommodation options in Kenya have also increased. Travel in Kenya conjures up images of first class safari experiences in intimate lodges and tented camps. On this exciting adventure we have sought to provide those small, private and intimate lodges or camps to complement your varied but distinctly Kenyan safari experiences. We explore Kenya by foot and in our extended 4WD vehicles. We are also led by our expert local tour leader, who will be assisted by park rangers in Laikipia and the Masai people at Masai Mara. We experience such incredible highlights as the atmospheric Abedare Valley, Laikipia Plateau and Samburu-Laikipia ecosystem, the World Heritage-listed Lake Nakuru and the majestic Masai Mara. Kenya is a remarkable country offering a full spectrum of landscapes from arid scrubland and lush valleys to shimmering lakes and snow-capped mountains. This wonderful safari ensures that the essence of Kenya will be indelibly printed on your soul!

Please note that the roads in Kenya can be quite bad at times. The tarred roads are badly pot-holed in sections and the dirt roads can be very dusty and corrugated. We need to be prepared for a fair bit of bouncing around on these roads. Infrastructure is also unpredictable and electricty may fail or be turned off at times. Lodges generally have back up generators in these situations.
Please note there are no laundry services available whilst camping, but sometimes when we stay at a campsite for at least two consecutive nights, there may be the opportunity to do some hand-washing.
