Many Gecko’s participants see themselves as independent travellers, but have limited time, or prefer the companionship of a few like minded individuals. With Gecko’s, you don’t have to queue for tickets, lug your backpack around town looking for a hotel, or wait two days for a train.. all this is taken care of for you. Better still, the prices are very affordable and you’ll benefit from having a local leader. Gecko’s leaders are locals who are passionate about helping you discover their homeland; they can read the menus, take you to all the best spots and introduce you to the local people. They open doors to travel experiences that you couldn't organize any other way.

Accommodation is planned to avoid large 'chain hotels'. Instead, locally owned hotels, guesthouses and lodges are used that reflect the character of the region. Most nights you'll be staying in twin-share rooms with private facilities. But sometimes accommodation can be pretty basic, such as a hilltribe hut in the north of Thailand, or camping in the African bush and at times will be on a multi-share basis. Gecko’s trips attract a young group and offer a great mix of freedom, convenience and fun.
