An active trip to one of the most beautiful of Croatia's 1185 islands. Although only 37kms long and 3kms wide, Mljet Island is an area of great diversity and contrast. Steep cliffs rise from the turquoise waters and reefs that surround the island, and the hilly interior hides many ancient stone villages as well as a number of salt water lakes. Located conveniently close to Dubrovnik, the island is an ideal base for a week of exciting activities in a unique environment. The fact that all of the activities are virtually on our doorstep means we can maximise the fun and adventure, rather than wasting time on bus transfers each day. All the acvtivities are included, and with a night in Dubrovnik, surely one of Europe's most beautiful cities, you have a great recipe for a memorable family holiday.

Itinerary:

Day 1 Start Dubrovnik; simple sightseeing tour and dinner in this stunning city. 2 Transfer by boat to the island of Mljet, our base for the next 6 nights. Afternoon swim in lake. 3 Walking tour around the island including Mljet lakes and the opportunity to swim. 4 Cycle tour around the national park. There will be plenty of opportunity to take a dip in one of the lakes en route. 5 An introductory day of sea kayaking in the Adriatic Sea. 6 Free day to relax or try one of the many optional activities available on the island. 7 A second day walk, exploring a different part of the national park. 8 End Dubrovnik.

Mode of travel: Flights via Zagreb with Croatia Airlines. Transport by private bus and boat.
Group size: Min. 6, max. 16, plus leader.
Accommodation: 7 nights hotels. We spend 6 nights in a lovely hotel right in the heart of the Mljet National Park. The beach is right in front of the hotel and has a children\'s pool and diving centre. All rooms are en suite and have air conditioning and satellite TV. There is also a wellness centre offering various treatments and massage.
Food: Halfboard throughout.
