The Sinai Peninsula has so much to offer: crystal clear warm waters, magnificent reefs, vast desert, mountains and canyons. This active itinerary incorporates all this and more as we go off-road and out to sea to discover this diverse region. We explore the Sinai desert and canyons by 4WD, discover life beneath the waves on a day's snorkelling trip, and spend a night at a relaxing beach camp. The highlight for many comes as we head towards the fabled Mount Sinai. Climbing the 3,750 steps (no easy feat!), we reach the summit as the sun rises - the breathtaking views over the peninsula ensure the early start is well worthwhile! This is a fun and action-packed trip for families with older children.

Itinerary:

Day 1 Start Cairo. 2 Morning visit to spectacular pyramids at Giza; camel ride. Free afternoon to swim, relax or explore Cairo. 3 Drive to Nuweiba village in the Sinai; afternoon quad biking in desert. 4 Full day snorkelling over the colourful Red Sea reefs. 5 4WD desert safari to White and Coloured Canyons; to traditional camp for a night under the stars. 6 Free time to relax and enjoy camp and crystal clear waters of Red Sea; afternoon transfer to foot of Mt Sinai. 7 Very early morning start to climb Mt Sinai for spectacular views at sunrise; descend; visit St Catherine's Monastery; to Cairo. 8 End Cairo.

Mode of travel: Flights direct to Cairo with British Midland. Transport private mini/midi bus, 4WD, quad bike, camel and on foot!
Group size: Min 5 , max 20 plus driver, guide (Egyptologist at Pyramids) and necessary staff for activities.
Accommodation: 5 nights good hotels, 1 night auberge at foot of Mount Sinai, 1 night Bedouin camp.\r\nAll hotels have comfortable rooms and great swimming pools.The beach camp is Bedouin style with basic facilities. There is a small restaurant and comfortable, shaded seating areas. A night here under the stars is a special experience.
