We visit Fatehpur Sikri and the 'Pink City' of Jaipur, home to the wonderful former Maharaja Palace and the splendid hilltop Amber Palace. Agra and the serene Taj Mahal are not to be missed on any visit to India and fully live up to expectations. For many Varanasi is the city that lingers longest in the memory; located on the River Ganges it is one of the most sacred in India. Religion dominates life with throngs of pilgrims around countless Hindu temples and ghats, creating an unforgettable onslaught of the senses. For a change in pace we visit the tranquil Ranthambore National Park that boasts an abundance of prey animals, monkeys and bird life - a truly wonderful spectacle, especially if you see the elusive tiger!

Day 1 Start Delhi, transfer to Jaipur. 2 Visit City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal; free time for exploring or visit to Amber Palace. 3 To Ranthambore; afternoon game drive in search of elusive tiger. 4 Morning game drive; drive to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri. 5 Visit the incredible Taj Mahal and Red Fort; overnight train to Varanasi. 6 Relax and enjoy the wonders of Varanasi. 7 Dawn boat ride on the Ganges visiting the bathing ghats; overnight train to Delhi. 8 Arrive Delhi; free for optional sightseeing. 9 End Delhi.
