Our high-calibre guides take you on an amazing journey as you visit many spectacular ancient world treasures and monuments. The breathtaking Pyramids, the tombs and temples at the Valley of the Kings and the imposing pillars of Karnak really are a sight to behold. You have time in Aswan, Egypt's most southerly city, to experience the city's vibrant Nubian culture. There's also the opportunity to sail by Felucca (a traditional Egyptian sailing boat), ride a camel or simply take a relaxing stroll on the famous corniche. The choice is yours.
Itinerary:
Day 1 Start Cairo. 2 Tour of the famous Archaeological Museum; to Pyramids at Giza and Sphinx. Overnight train to Luxor. 3 Morning visit Karnak and Luxor Temples; afternoon at leisure. 4 Morning exploration of the Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut's Temple and the Colossi of Memnon. Free afternoon. 5 Train to Aswan; optional afternoon visit to Philae Temple. 6 Felucca ride to Elephantine Island and Botanical Gardens on Kitchener's Island; optional afternoon camel ride to St Simeon Monastery. 7 Optional visit to Abu Simbel in the morning; overnight train to Cairo. 8 Free day or optional tour of the Pyramids of Saqqara and Dashour. 9 End Cairo.
