The mountains of the Picos de Europa - Spain's first National Park - offer some of the finest, most dramatic mountain scenery in the country, with lush valleys, deep rocky gorges, and fascinating cave systems. Add in the proximity of the stunning Cantabrian Coast, and this area provides the perfect location for a family-orientated activity holiday. Accommodation: The CentresWe use two different hotels in the lovely mountain village of Arenas de Cabrales. Hotel Torrecerredo Our first choice is the Torrecerredo, a family-run hotel, situated in quiet meadows a few hundred metres from the edge of the village. It has a pleasant garden terrace, and all rooms have en suite facilities.Villa de CabralesWhere necessary, we also use the Villa de Cabrales, located in the village of Arenas (just 4 minutes walk from the Torrecerredo). This comfortable 2 star hotel is built of local stone, has 26 rooms, all en suite, and has been tastefully refurbished.
